Gillingham Anchorians Rugby Kit
What Rugby Kit Does My Child Need?
As a club, we want all our players to feel united and safe. Their rugby kit, much like their school uniform, does just that. It helps bring them together as a team and means nobody looks or feels different to the rest. Unlike regular active wear, this specially designed kit ensures your child is wearing regulation safe clothing for contact sport.

Rugby Essentials
Rugby boots and studs!
This part of your child’s rugby kit in an absolute essential. While you may think football boots and rugby boots are the same thing, they are not. Wearing the wrong studs can cause injury which is why the RFU have clear and firm rules on what should be worn. A rugby stud must:
not be longer than 21mm
be at least 10mm diameter at the end of the stud
have no external projections on its surface
have a smooth and rounded finish
must not have any burring or sharp edges
It’s worth investing in a pair that will protect your child’s feet and other players’ bodies. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
TIP
Keep a size 10 spanner in your boot bag to make sure your rugby boot studs are always tight before training or playing a match. It’s never fun to lose one half way through!
Gum shields & Mouth guards
Once your child is playing full contact rugby, we strongly recommend they wear a gum shield for every training session and every match. These should be moulded to the shape your child’s teeth and gums before coming to play, so check the instructions on the packet to ensure a snug fit.
If you’d like to order a gum shield email us at garfc.kit@yahoo.com.
